Parallels is a trilogy, with the first book, Reflections(like in the mirror), finished. It's a magical urban fantasy thriller, with 3 main characters: spacer(flying, series and stocks addictive guy), enchantress(wanna-be-in-the-big-tech young woman) and medic(perfect-memory-weirdly-calm-guy).Setting: alternate universe with nuclear-powered-magic used as energy in all fields of life: tech, AI, VR, med, construction, transport, farming, logistics, banking, enchantment and etc.***
From author: for a long time of my life I was watching a lot, like, A LOT OF series, anime and stuff. At the some point anime just ended. There was nothing new that was good, interesting and what I wanted to watch. Then I came to read manga. Manga, webtoons, originals of anime - novels. There was a lot. A lot of books, a lot of films with completely different genres.
And there was a thing that I liked but it was rare. In anime a lot of characters problems are solved with fights.
In good detectives, for example some Swedish, Danish, German series there are a really good complex and interesting plots where characters are searching for the hints, making their research and etc. There's no fights here.
I wanted to find something like that in fantasy setting. Where's magic and technology exists but also the law. The properly working law is the thing that I wasn't able to find in a lot of anime. Like, why the children the one who's fighting? Where's the adults? It modern days world but they freely fighting on the streets? Why? Are children the only one who's have supernatural abilities? What happens to them when they beaming an adults? Why they stronger that those with years of experience? And why they fight when the issue can be solved with psychology? Now, probably, more stuff with proper explanations are getting released. Yea, that's good, but for me that wasn't enough.So I wrote mine. The world where's no such thing as non-magician. No and never was. Magic was with each of them from the beginning, and as it was, they surely managed to use it as we use electricity, solar and nuclear power. There's btw the Gifted ones. To describe it easyly. this Gift as an specially increased range of one of the senses. As an ability to see ultraviolet radiation or hear ultrasound, but different.The magic. But it never called magic as you never called magic your ability to read. It's just learning. The magic. But if everyone have it, then authorities also have, and so the working tax, big sity security, watching system can be made. How many layers, floors would be efficient if anyone can fly? Why on earth do we need road-card if we can have flying ones? Why logistic is an issue if we have teleports? And again, everyone have so-called-magic, so it's just can't be expensive after those centuries.I found this concept quite interesting and here we are.
